This year’s Intramurals which bore the theme: “Unity through Sports and Friendly Competition” was held last September 4, 5 and 6. It was sponsored by the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA). The preliminary of the said three day activity was a parade. After that, the MDC Activity Center was jam-packed with spectators for the Search for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2014 and Cheer Dance competition.

Mr. Romart Torregosa from the College of Arts and Sciences and Ms. Candie Dianne Cervantes from the College of Business and Accountancy (Business Department) were crowned as Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2014. For the cheerdance competition, the College of Computer Information and Communication Technology was proclaimed winner while the College of Education and College of Business and Accountancy (Business Department) were 2nd and 3rd placers respectively.

CCICT CheerdancersLater on the first day, different ball games were participated by athletes from participating colleges. On the following days, individual and dual games also entertained the players. But what made the MDC Intramural 2014 truly enjoyable was the inclusion of the traditional Filipino games or “larong lahi” which gave chance to those who were not sports enthusiasts to be involved. Also, there was an exhibition game between MDC Seagulls and the visiting team from Cortes on the third day.

Still, the over-all champion for this year’s Intramurals was the College of Arts and Sciences. The College of Education and College of Business and Accountancy (Business Department) placed 2nd and 3rd respectively.
