A symposium on Safety, Security, Crime Prevention and R.A. 10121 took place at the Activity Center of Mater Dei College last July 28, 2014. The symposium started at 2:00 in the afternoon which was hosted by Mrs. Dannah Jane Tapayan, an English teacher.
PO2 Juliet Tuquib, a proud Criminology graduate of Mater Dei College, did a great job on explaining about the nature of crime and tips on how to prevent crimes. The next speaker was Engr. Noel Mendaña, Municipal Planning and Development Council Officer. He talked about important matters such as what to do during disasters and how to be safe during calamities including the essential aspects of R.A. 10121, otherwise known as Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Climate Adaptation.
The event ended through an open forum at around 5:00 in the afternoon wherein students’ questions were answered and given clarifications by Engr. Mendaña and PO2 Jasper Reyes. Certificates of appreciation were also given to the guest speakers for the time and efforts they rendered to make the symposium a success.
