Last June 8, 2014, the Mater Dei College Basic Education Department held an orientation program for parents at the MDC Activity Center. The program was started at 1:15 p.m. with an invocation and singing of Philippine National Anthem and Bohol Hymn. To welcome the attendees, Dr. Regina E. Cabarrubias, school principal, gave the opening remarks and statement of purpose.
Recognizing the importance of MDC BED’s partnership with parents, the PGTA officers and members were acknowledged by Teacher Janet L. Rodriguez, PGTA secretary. In order for parents to get to know more about MDC, Teacher Kenneth Regene Blasco shared the history of MDC as well as the school’s vision, mission, and goal. He also introduced the elementary and high school faculty and staff.
MDC’s Promil I-shiner who made it to the top 30 finalists list, Antoinette Julienne Noquiao, a 3rd grade pupil of MDC BED, held the audience spellbound with her song. Following Juilenne’s number was the talk of Dr. Ceferina H. Ranario for her Vice President for Academic’s Time. Three of creative arts summer edition students, under the mentorship of Mrs. Marie Blanche Laborte, showed their talents on keyboard to the delight of the parents.
After the reading of the calendar of activities by Dr. Cabarrubias, matters about school policies and school uniforms were presented and discussed by Dr. Jasmin M. Sumipo, Assistant Principal. Next, MDC’s Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Artemio Gulilat tackled on school facilities, tuition fees, and books. The program was adjourned with the open forum following after the message from the PGTA President, Mr. Jose Ruel Alampayan.
